Ramadan is a month of reflection, celebration, reunion and gourmet food, and Abu Dhabi has created a program of must-see events to make the holy month more special for all its visitors and residents. The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), in partnership with the capital’s cultural, hospitality and entertainment organizations, has announced a series of Iftar and Sehru experiences for all to celebrate Ramadan in the true Arabic style.
Most hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions in the Emirates will offer a special dining experience, below you will find a selection of the latest, exciting and memorable activities for visitors and residents.
Iftar with Lions: During Ramadan, dine with the lions at Al Ain Zoo for a truly unique and memorable Iftar experience. Available daily from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm, the experience also includes a sunset tour hosted by Al Ain Safari, which will increase your appetite for an amazing dining experience at the edge of the Lion region.
Iftar with Giraffe: An Iftar evening with giraffes is waiting for you at Emirates Park Zoo, with the opportunity to feed these fascinating herbivores. This special experience is open to groups of up to five people and lasts about two hours starting at 6:30 pm.
Iftar with Elephants: Iftar evenings with elephants are equally thrilling, including a full day free admission to the Emirates Park Zoo and a set dinner at the arena with pachyderm. Experiences include an African drum session, a lesson on elephant behavior, and interactions with these gentle giants, including being able to feed them. Iftar with elephants is open to groups of 12 people and lasts about two hours, starting at 6:30 pm.
Iftar in the Louvre Abu Dhabi: Celebrate the magic of Ramadan at the Arab world’s first public museum and enjoy a gorgeous iftar under the iconic dome of Jean Nouvelle. Break the fast with an incredible Emirati-French iftar experience in Abu Dhabi, Phuket, or enjoy a light snack on the quaint terrace of the Art Lounge in Abu Dhabi in the Louvre of Saadiyat Island.
The three-course Emirati-French Iftar menu at Fouquet’s Abu Dhabi, priced at AED 390 per person, and the Iftar menu at the A la Carte in the Art Lounge, are both available from sunset to 10pm throughout the month of Ramadan.
